For New Customer
- How do I apply for Natural Gas supply?
We strive to ease the application process to our customer.
Contact Sarawak Gas Distribution Sdn Bhd. (SGDSB) Customer Service at 085 421423 to check availability of natural gas service at your area.
Appoint a Gas Competent Person and fill in the Customer Authorisation Letter along with Gas Supply Agreement.
Your appointed Gas Competent Person will perform internal gas installation, testing and commissioning for your home / premise with approval from Ministry of Utility & Telecommunication (MUT).
SGDSB will be ready to connect your gas upon issuance of ATO (Approval To Operate) by MUT.

Your Subscription Fee inclusive of Installation Cost and Deposit are as follows:
Subscription Fee inclusive of Installation Cost Deposit Residential RM 800.00 RM 60.00 Commercial RM 2,620.00 RM 1,200.00
Development charges may be applicable depending on your service area.

- What is the gas tariff I need to pay?
Current Tariff Rate for Residential & Commercial is RM 7.93/ mmBTU for Domestic Natural Gas Miri. - How long does it take to process my application?
Please allow between 3-6 weeks for your appointed Gas Competent Person to obtain approvals from MUT and carry-out the installation and testing to safety standard. Upon issuance of ATO, Sarawak Gas Distribution will be ready to supply gas to you within 48 hours. - I want to have gas supply to my home, but I don't have any internal gas plumbing built in. Who can I contact?

With the Distribution of Gas Ordinance 2016 (DGO2016) in effect, only a Gas Competent Person registered with MUT can perform gas installation and maintenance.
- How do I report for gas leak or defects?
If you notice rotten egg smell or hissing or are unsure of gas safety, call (6085) 421 423 or (6012) 878 7990. We are available 24 hours a day to respond to your emergency call. - Are there other options for me to pay my bill besides walk-in?
For your convenience, payment to SGDSB can be made via SarawakPay / S-Pay, JomPay or your nearest Service Sarawak Kiosk. - I'm a business owner, what are the Natural Gas solutions I can consider for my business?
While being the cleanest burning fossil fuel, reliable and enviable track record - Sarawak Domestic Natural Gas is priced at among the lowest in the region. From restaurant, hotels, launderette, commercial buildings, hospitals, or Industrial establishment, you will be surprised at the substantial cost savings to your business.
You may also consider Gas HVAC system or Gas Heat Pump (GHP) as alternative to conventional electric-powered Air Conditioning unit for your commercial buildings. High-efficiency GHP is fast becoming preferred option for hotels & commercial buildings in Miri with the abundant supply and attractive gas tariff.

- Is Sarawak Gas the approving authority for New Gas Installation?
No, Ministry of Utility & Telecommunication (MUT) is the Approving Authority to issue ATI/ATO for gas installations.
Sarawak Gas Distribution Sdn Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) is the Licensee for Supply and Distribution of Natural Gas in Sarawak.
- I am previously registered with Sarawak Gas Distribution. Can I perform gas installation / plumbing works for customer?
In accordance with the Distribution of Gas Ordinance 2016 (DGO2016), only a Gas Competent Person registered with MUT can perform gas installation and maintenance in Sarawak.

- Do I submit ATI/ATO application to Sarawak Gas Distribution for approval?
No, all ATI/ATO submissions are to be sent directly to MUT for processing and approval.
Gas Competent Person may reach Sarawak Gas Distribution for review/endorsement of ATI/ATO document before submitting to MUT. Currently, Sarawak Gas Distribution is the appointed representative for ATI review for Residential applications.
